Ensures a learning environment for diverse learners:
Distinguished - Actively seeks knowledge of students’ backgrounds,
cultures, skills, language proficiency, interests, and special needs from a variety
of sources. This information is acquired for individual students.
Proficient - The intern also purposefully seeks knowledge from
several sources of students’ backgrounds, cultures, skills, language proficiency,
interests, and special needs for groups of students.
Basic - Indicates the importance of understanding students’ backgrounds,
cultures, skills, language proficiency, interests, and special needs for the Class
as a whole.
Unsatisfactory - Demonstrates little or no understanding of students’
backgrounds, cultures, skills, language proficiency, interests, and special needs,
and does not seek such understanding.
